… and do you know where I was then? Yes, in Stuttgart (for a ‘Networks for mobility’ conference)! On Friday I witnessed perhaps the biggest demonstration against a station area project in history, with 50.000 to 100.000 people and hundreds if not thousands of police.
Another interesting paradox of this trip was that the conference venue – where everybody was talking of sustainable mobility and the post car area – was located at just 5 minute walking distance form the grandiose Mercedes Benz museum (designed by Dutch architects UNstudio) celebrating 100 years of automobile history and looking with great confidence to he next 100 years!
